10 cute and funny stories about how soulmates can surprise their significant others

Each of us is full of surprises, and that’s what makes life brighter. Even when it seems like you know your closest people like the back of your hand, they can surprise you with their antics. We offer you short, sweet, and funny stories about how significant others can bring the effect of surprise to everyday life.

1. I have a small business. One night I had to stay late at work because of a late delivery of groceries that I helped unload for my employees. When I got home, my wife was already asleep. I quickly took a shower and went to bed tired. But my beloved wife immediately muttered sleepily, “Ew, get out of here.” Of course, I was outraged and surprised by her reaction, but I decided to leave the warm bed and go to sleep on the couch. We’ll talk in the morning. In the morning I woke up to my wife’s surprised voice: “Why are you sleeping on the couch?” While I was explaining that she had rudely kicked me out, my wife started laughing: “I’m sorry, dear, I thought it was our dog who knocked over his water bowl again and is now wetting our bed!”

2. In 5 years of marriage, I have never heard my husband complain about anything. Tired, cold, with a headache – he endured everything steadfastly and without a single complaint. He completely debunked for me the stereotype that men are like little children when they are ill. But when a piece of a children’s construction set accidentally stuck into his leg, I will remember my courageous husband’s subtle scream for a long time. Now I sometimes jokingly call him “My dear Achilles”.

3. My wife called me and asked in an angry voice: “Who is that woman answering your phone?” I was shocked by her claim and didn’t even know what to say. I just decided to find out where she got this idea from. As it turned out, our four-year-old daughter had called me half an hour earlier. I was on the road and my phone was off the hook. When my daughter heard the voice of an answering machine in the receiver, she told her mother that a woman had answered the phone. After everything was cleared up, my wife and I laughed at the situation together.

4. Once I met an old acquaintance, we got to talking and it turned out that our children go to the same kindergarten. I was on my way to pick up my daughter, and my friend said: “I’ll come with you, I’ll take my son.” We arrived at the kindergarten, and the friend couldn’t find his son, so he called the teacher. She looks at him dumbfounded and says: “So your son hasn’t been going to kindergarten for a week, and your wife said that the child is at home with a cold.” That’s how I got my husband to talk, I forgot everything!

5. Recently, my beloved made a real discovery for himself. I laughed for a long time at the fact that he had been considering a bee and a wasp to be the same insect for all these years. It’s just that, in his opinion, a bee turns into a wasp in the summer. I love him, but how did he come up with this idea?

6. I adore my parents, and I hope that in the future I will build a strong and positive family like theirs. We always had fun at home, with good-natured laughter and jokes. Once I was visiting my parents, my mom called from work and asked if I wanted anything because she was planning to stop at the store on her way home. Soon after, my dad came home from work and asked where my mom was. I told him that she was planning to go to the supermarket. “Oh, I know her, she’ll pick up bags full of groceries, then she’ll barely be able to walk home with them.” And he left the apartment. My parents told me the rest of the story when they came home, laughing. So, my mom comes out of the store and has no idea that my dad is waiting for her, leaning on the car. To get her attention, Dad says loudly:

– “Oh, why is this beautiful woman carrying such heavy packages by herself? Let me give you a lift and let’s go for a ride around the city.

– But I have no time, my husband and daughter are waiting at home.

– We won’t be long!

– All right, let’s go!

Dad gallantly takes the bags from mom, puts them in the car, and then they notice a driver watching this situation from a nearby parked car. His surprised expression told me that my parents had played their roles masterfully, and he actually believed that the couple had just met in this way. Perhaps he, too, was waiting for his wife to come home from shopping and from that moment on would never let her carry the heavy bags from the supermarket alone.

7. It was the last warm days of autumn. I had just sat our 8-year-old daughter down to do her homework when my husband came flying home from the doorway: “Get ready, I have something interesting for you!” My daughter didn’t want to sit through her homework on this sunny day, so I stood there confused, and my husband urged her on: “Quickly, quickly.” We got dressed, left the house, got in the car and drove away. On the way, I asked: “Where are we going?” He replied: “A surprise. I thought we hadn’t gone anywhere on vacation this year, but soon the weather won’t be so good, it will rain.” We arrive at the river, and my husband turns to us and enthusiastically says: “Let’s go kayaking! What do you think of the idea?” My daughter claps her hands joyfully, and I am surprised at my husband’s impulsive action and smile. We had a great time. Although the child went to school the next day with unprepared homework, it was worth it. We really need to appreciate such sunny moments in life more.

8. I love my husband infinitely, I am very lucky to have him. His father was a sailor, so he was rarely at home, but his mother raised her son to be a real man who also knows how to do everything around the house. He cooks, does laundry, ironing, and mops the floor many times better than I do. My husband made sure that we have all the appliances that make life easier. But I always remember the beginning of our life together with a warm smile. One morning I woke up and saw my beloved crawling on all fours on the floor. I couldn’t understand what was happening. It turned out that it was a scheduled wet cleaning. Of course, I’ve become even more housekeeping with him around, but housework doesn’t fall on my shoulders alone. And it’s always nice to have a tasty dinner waiting for me in a clean house if I’m working late, or to help each other in the process of cooking it.

9. As long as I can remember, my husband has always said: “I don’t like cats or any other animals in the house or yard.” And then our daughter managed to persuade him to buy her a kitten for her birthday. And you know, now we have two cats at home. He also gave us the second one. Now my husband says he doesn’t like dogs. And yesterday my son tearfully asked me to give him a puppy. So I think that the moment is not far off when I will persuade my husband to have chickens in our yard, and maybe geese.

10. I am usually among the first to arrive at work. An elderly woman who has been working in our office as a cleaner for 5 years always greets me with a gentle smile. In the mornings, I would always see her husband helping her with heavy packages. So I was sure that he also worked for us. Only recently I found out that this man actually has another job. However, every morning he accompanies his wife, throws away the garbage bags, helps move the office furniture, and then goes to his job. I respect such a caring attitude towards his wife.
