“Paid for with a Glass of Milk” A good life story about kindness and mercy.

Many years ago there was a boy. After the death of his parents, he was left an orphan and wandered the streets hungrily, and out of unbearable thirst and hunger he knocked on the door of a woman and asked for a glass of water, but the woman saw that the child was hungry, and instead of water she brought the boy a glass of milk, the boy drank the milk and said: “I will never forget your kindness.”

And he left. Many years later, the woman grew old and sick, and needed urgent heart surgery. She was taken to the hospital, and the doctor who operated on her recognized her as the woman who had helped and fed her in her time of need.

The operation was successful, the woman regained consciousness, but she was puzzled by the question: “How can I pay for this expensive surgery?” The woman asked for the bill, then she opened the page with fear and instead of the bill she saw what was written there: “Paid with a glass of milk!”
