In summer Sonia had a huge grief – her mum died of cancer. Sonya now lives with her dad, who cannot go out to work full-time, as her daughter constantly needs his help. Let’s remind the story of Sofia. Sonia was born very tiny weighing 850 g at the 28th week of pregnancy. The girl was discharged after 3 months when she learnt to breathe and eat from a bottle on her own. A few months later she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Anna tried to improve the health of her only daughter as much as possible: she worked with her at home, used all the opportunities for rehabilitation. Thanks to this, the girl can roll over, sit up, use a fork, walk on stairs and ride a tricycle. After the October course of classes at the Ioan Centre, Sofia’s body has become stronger and her stamina has improved. Sonya now walks longer distances and has learnt to lift herself off the floor. There is also progress in speech development. Sonia is likely to go to school next year. In the meantime, she is having a real holiday with the specialists of the Ioannov Centre. Sonia recently told her dad: “I am amenable to them, but not to you!” – rehabilitologists Sofia was gaining weight badly. A gastroenterologist examined the child and found a protein-energy deficiency – a chronic deficiency of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and minerals. The doctor prescribed special nutrition Resource Junior. We have helped to buy it many times. Taking the formula allowed Sonia to gain more than 5kg. 25 200 UAH will be enough to buy the mixture for 6 months. Another 11 400 UAH will cost hygiene products for six months. Sonia’s father works part-time in car service. He cannot devote all day to work: his daughter needs care.
